A Digipack is a Cd case which is made of Cardboard or paper, they allow the artist to have a bigger design on the front as it can be spread across all sections of the pack, they also save room, as they are generally very thin.
Digipacks can be formed in many different ways, they are generally laid out as book-style, some may only hold one cd some may hold 3 or 4. The general layout of a digipack is the cover folds out and another layer folds out the other way, revealing the cd/cd’s.
Digipacks grew most popular in the year 2000, among record labels and artists. One down side to a digipack is the plastic disk tray inside of the pack, often is weak and can easily break, especially the ‘teeth’ which hold the disk in place.
