The chosen Genre of our music video is Hip-Hop. The reason we have chosen this genre is because the music is not to fast so it does not involve too many split second clips, the fact that the music is slightly slower and less active, allows us to have longer clips and create a more personal feel to the viewer.
Hip-Hop Means, Hip (In the know or Current) and Hop (Hopping Movement)
The Viewer will have the idea of the codes and conventions of our chosen genre which is Hip-Hop, as being dressed in Jeans, Plain T-Shirt/Shirt and Trainers. An altogether general casual character. By Looking at our Artist ‘Example’ we can see that he usually dresses in a Plain pair of jeans, Converse or similar trainers, and a plain t-shirt with a jacket or coat.
The Audience will expect our video to feel Updated and modern, as well as Fitting in with the whole genre. Our genre of hip-hop Fits in with artists such as Jay-Z, Example, Kanye West etc. Our genre has the mainstream scene of Girls, Cars and Money, which help in allowing us to build our video around these aspects.
